With all of the excitement surrounding the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games people are curious about all the rules and regulations of leasing your home. We field many phone calls each week with basic questions such as “is it legal to lease my house” or “do I have to pay taxes on the rental income”? Yes, it legal to lease your home. The answer to the tax question is as follows: IRS publication 527, "if you use the dwelling unit as a home and you rent it fewer than 15 days during the year, do not include any of the rent in your income and do not deduct any of the rental expenses."

So you have made the decision to visit beautiful central Kentucky for the 2010 World Equestrian Games. Tickets will go on sale on September 25, 2009. There are a projected number of 600,000 tickets being sold and roughly 8,000 hotel rooms available in the area. This is when the questions start.
